CIVIL SOCIETY COOPERATION PROJECT AGAİNST HATE SPEECH AND CRIMES
Project Owner: The Turkey Disabled People Education and Solidarity Foundation (OZEV)

Subject: Hate Speech and Hate Crime
Place: All participant organizations’ countries
Duration of the project: 24 months
Budget: 500.000 Euro
For participants from: 1 EU Member Country’s Civil Society Organization (CSOs) & at least one CSO from each of at least 3 different IPA –Bs in the Western Balkans and Turkey (other than applicant’s nationality; Turkey) (1)
Main criteria to be a partner: (1) to be located in IPA countries that do not have hate crime laws and (2) to represent social groups that are targeted by hate speech frequently such as disabled people, LGBT people, immigrants, and people who have been discriminated because of their religion and ethnicity.
Activities: to launch a platform with participant CSOs and work together in order to,
• increase awareness on hate speech,
• monitor hate speech in the media,
• organize education seminars,
• lobby for hate speech laws in each partners’ country.
(Activities will be determined in accordance with the particular needs of participant CSOs)

The European Commission calls for proposals on “Civil Society Facility Partnership Programmes for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) 2012” project (Ref. Num EuropeAid/132438/C/ACT/Multi). This project aims to increase cooperation between EU member and candidate countries’ civil society associations by encouraging them to work on a thematic subject. The project requires four IPA countries (from the Western Balkans and Turkey) and one EU Member State CSOs’ partnership.
The Turkey Disabled People Education and Solidarity Foundation [Türkiye Özürlüler Eğitim ve Dayanışma Vakfı (OZEV)] applies to European Commission’s call with a project about hate speech and crime. History of ÖZEV
Turkey Disabled People Education and Solidarity Foundation (OZEV) is established by the handicapped families in 19 june 1994.Up to now OZEV gives education,health,social rehabilitation etc.services to the handicapped groups and handicapped’s families .
OZEV works on the principle that “All handicapped’s have the same rights with the other citizens” and thinks that it is the greatest assault not to see handicapped and their rights.
