The Government of Republic of Macedonia on its session held on 16th June adopted the Strategy for Cooperation between Government and civil society (2012-2017), and the Action Plan for its implementation. The main goal is to promote and support the partnership between the Macedonian Government and civil society through measures to strengthen mutual cooperation in five priority areas: developed and sustainable civil sector; active participation in defining policies, laws and European integration; economic development and social cohesion; strengthen civic activism and support of community and strengthened institutional framework and practices of cooperation. The Strategy had been widely consulted with civil society, but in its final adopted version the Strategy includes only two key out of four key suggestions by local CSO, i.e. establishment of the Council for civil society development and adoption of an obligatory (by)law on transparent state funding allocated to CSOs. Here you can find the Strategy and the Action Plan available in Macedonian language.
